Likhan valaya tu hoke

 

likhan valaya tu hoke dayal likh de,
mere dil vich guran da piyar likh de
O writer of my destiny!  Please have mercy on me,
and write in my destiny immense love for my Guru.

sira utte likh de hath guran da
Let my Guru’s benevolent hand always be placed on my head.

akhkhan vicha guran da deedar likh de,
mere dil vich guran da piyar likh de
Let my eyes always be blessed with seeing him. 
Write in my destiny immense love for my Guru.

hatthan utte likh de, seva guran di
Let my hands be constantly busy in serving my Guru.

dil vich dil da dildar likh de,
 mere dil vich guran da piyar likh de
Let my Beloved forever reside in my heart.
Write in my destiny immense love for my Guru.

pairan utte likh de, satsang jana
Let my feet always take me to satsang.

mera tan man guran utton vaar likh de,
mere dil vich guran da piyar likh de
Let my body and mind be sacrificed upon my Guru. 
Write in my destiny immense love for my Guru.

Ika na likkhin mere guran da vichhora
Do not write in my destiny even the least separation from my Guru.

hor chahe dukhan de pahad likh de,
mere dil vich guran da piyar likh de
Other than that, you may write a mountain of troubles in my destiny. 
But do write in my destiny immense love for my Guru. 

Hum to teri ada par fida ho gaye

Hum to teri ada par fida ho gaye

Dino duniya sabhi alvida ho gaye 

 I have fallen victim to your charms, bidding farewell to this world and celestial abodes.  

Ab na jannat ki khavahis na dozakh ka dar

 Dil ki aukat kya ham to khud kho gaye

Gone is the desire for heaven; gone is the fear of hell. I have lost not only my heart, but my self in you.

Ab khua ki ibadat ki adat gayi

Ham hi tum ho gaye tum hi ham ho gaye

No longer do I have the habit of worshiping God.  Now I have become you, and you have become me.

Bevafa tum sa koi na dekha suna

Phir bhi laute na vo tere dar jo gaye

I have not seen or heard of anyone as treacherous as you. Still, no one turns back to the world after accepting you.

Bevafa ki zafa hi hai sachi vafa

Rajda hai 'kripalu' tere ho gaye

Being faithful to the treacherous is true love.  Says Shri ‘Kripalu’, “This secret is known only to those who have become yours.”
